VLAD KAZHDAN
Hi, as most of you know, I am the new junior committee chairman of Pancan
Kids. Some of you don't know me so I will tell all of you a little about
myself. I was born in Russia, and moved to Minnesota at the age of 4.
Everything was going great here in America until January 17, 1998. I was 13
years old, and my dad, who was 50, was diagnosed with PC. On January 19, my
dad sat me down and sad that he has one year to live. I wouldn't believe him,
I was saying that can not happen to me, it just can't. That is how I got to
this discussion center. I was looking for people to help me find a great
doctor for my dad. I met a lot of great people, and then I met pam, who
decided to somehow raise awareness of PC. When I heard about this, I was all
for it, it needed to be done, and I wanted to do it. My dad died on March 1,
1998, but I was with him on the last day that he died. I kind of stayed out
of this place for a while thinking how bad it was for me to have these bad
memories. I thought I would never come back here again. I pretty much went
into a state of depression, and then one day, I decided that I need to help
other kids with the same problem I had. I met paula, and things went up from
there, and now I am going to get a chance to help other kids that are going
through the same thing that i went through. I am going to fight hard, and
help kids as much as I can. And with you people behind me I know I will
succeed.
