Pancreas Cancer Web
JANE D
I am 41 year old female, diagnosed with pc in September 98. Doctors
originally diagnose ovarian cancer but once they started the surgery, traced
the tumor to the pancreas. Since the surgery I have been doing chemo -
Gemzar and 5fu combination, once a week for 3 weeks then one week off. I
also have been taking nutritional supplements of vitamin c, antioxidants, and
mushroom extract. The tumors that were not removed by surgery have been
shrinking and my CA125 and CEA are down to below normal levels (13 and .05
respectively). I am feeling well, not 100 percent of what I was but am able
to work fulltime and ride my horse. The only symptoms I had before
diagnosis were slight bloating of the abdomen and discomfort if I laid on my
abdomen. I had no other significant pain. I was very active and energetic
and was totally shocked that such a disease could have been growing in me
that I had no idea of! My children have been extremely supportive and
caring and are truly amazed at my progress since surgery (as are my doctors!)
