I had whipples in April 2001. A week later I had a laparotomy to wash out an
infection. The wound was left to heal naturally. After 11 weeks in hospital I
went home. The wound eventually was closed by cauturisation with silver
nitrate in september/october. The abdomen muscles did not knit so I have an
incisional hernia and wear a corset. I frequently suffer pains from below or
just under my rib cage which can be quite disabling. The surgeon says they
are 'probably' muscle spasms and tried Colpermin, Colofac and Diazepam to
alleviate the problem without success. My GP tried Tramadol which just made
me ill. Does anybody know about this or a cure/relief??
