JILL IN VA. 2012 Update

(Updated July 2012) Several years later and I'm still here! Metastasis showed up in my lungs November 2008, but was repeatedly misdiagnosed by my then-current oncologist as 'nothing to be concerned about. Lots of people have spots in their lungs'

I had a lung resection in 2009 to confirm that they are adenocarcinoma (yes). I also had RFA (radiofrequency ablation) performed twice hoping to burn off the tumors. But the lung tumors came back within a few months and brought their friends.

Currently there's about 25 smallish tumors in my lungs. I've done a number of different chemos over the past few years: GTX, Oxaliplatin & Xeloda, Xeloda alone, Folfiri and each time it's beaten back the tumors a bit and lowered the CA19-9 for a bit, then it rebounds.

I'm running low on options now, but still having a great time for the most part. Having fun, enjoying life, trying to ignore the chemo side-effects. It'll be 5 years since diagnosis in October 2012!!
