Whipple surgery March 15 after a sudden onset of pain. Same symptoms six months prior were misdiagnosed as 'pulled muscle' and same pancreas 'didn't show up on ultra-sound'. Recovery has been very good, severe infection at port installation delayed treatment a bit.
I had been a VERY ACTIVE 71 yr old single professional lady. Two years ago almost to the day I moved to lovely Sun City Carolina Lakes from my Charlotte home of 35 years. Am I ever glad I did! The care and support have been tremendous, though could never match a caring partner, I'm sure.
I'm in a dilemma about the proposed treatment plan. My diagnosis wss T1N1. Path report post surgery reported clean margins of mass removed but two of eleven lymph nodes were malignant. Laatest Scan was clear on all organs. Radiation is proposed after three Gemzar cycles. Thought it would be after six cycles and I'd get a second opinion before proceeding.
Have no support group here so excuse if I'm 'dumping.' I appreciate all your sharing. Wish you could join me on the newly built screened porch (finished week before surgery!) for a drink...ginger ale, of course!
Would be interested in hearing from anyone who is using natural supplements along with traditional therapies...
Best wishes, and thanks for being here.
