Borderline resectable/Locally

My husband, 52 years old, was diagnosed 1/30/2009 with borderline resectable pancreatic cancer. It's classified as such because the tumor is against the SMA & SMV. He began chemo (820mg/week Gemzar) & Radiation treatments 3/16/09. The game plan is to complete 6 weeks of treatment, wait 3-4 weeks for the effects of radiation to complete it's task and repeat the CT scan to determine if the tumor has shrunk away from the vessels. If the shrinkage occurs, and no sign of spreading of cancer is observed he will be having a whipple. I will update on the outcome!
