Dennis was diagnosed April 18th. He is on gemzar and 5FU. Treatments are on for 2 wks off one for three rounds. Today he had a stent placed in his small intestine because a tumor was closing the intestine off and he has not been able to take foods orally for three weeks...he continues on TPN per IV, and one doctor recommends taking him off TPN while the other says to keep him on it. He is on oxycontin 40mg twice a day and has been on that since diagnosis. He has been sleeping approx twenty hours per day for the past two weeks...has just occasional breakthrough pain. No one...drs or nurses seem surprised by the amount of sleep...his pc metastasized to adrenal, colon, lymph nodes and peritoneum...stage 4b...anyone have any similar situations or suggestions?...I read these postings and become so aware that many of us are facing difficult situations...it does help to hear from people going through this...thanks...pam h
