I saw my oncologist today. Although the MRI and the ctscan show no change in the tumor (inoperable, diagnosed Aug. 1996) since it shrank after radiation and 5FU, my tumor marker test is up to 74 (has been in the teens previously). So it's definitely going up. I don't have any definite symptoms yet, so he's going to wait with new chemo, till some changes occur on the ct scan, planned for the beginning of December. My white blood cell count is down to 3,000 and he thinks that it's because I'm starving myself on the macrobiotic diet. It's true that I'm skeletal and always hungry. Any suggestions or ideas? My husband has weathered the surgery on his liver pretty well, after some very rough postoperative days. The surgeon removed one tumor and froze the other two. So at least his outlook is improved.
