I got on antidepressants (remeron) when I was first diagnosed with pc almost 7 years ago! The antidepressants saved my life!! I saw a Dr. at MD Anderson who specialized in patients who had depression because of pancreatic cancer. The way she explained it to me was because the pancreas was a gland it affected your moods...when you have pc you get a double dose of depression...not only because you have cancer but also because the sick gland gives you severe depression. By taking antidepressants it increases your ability to fight the cancer by increasing your appetite. Taking the antidepressants can save you life!!!
