My mother is 5 1/2 weeks post Whipple. She was vomiting regularly for weeks
from the radiation before surgery, it settled down a bit post-op, and then
started up again and she had to be re-hospitalized.
They had to re-install the j-tube and stomach drain. She becomes nauseous
every time her stomach fills and the draining helps. Between vomiting and
being perpetually nauseous, she's getting rather disconcerted with the whole
thing and her spirits really aren't doing well. The doctors did a number of
endoscopies to look for a blockage, but apparently there is none.
Is this common? Does this go away?
Thanks so much,
