I can tell you that only after 2 rounds of chemo my dad's intake of pain meds decreased drastically. He was originally on 20mg Oxycoton 12 hour release and Oxycodon 20 mg every 4 hours in between. He was taking all of them all of the time, was in constant pain! After the 2nd round of chemo he began to decrease his intake. He just had round 5 this past Tuesday and he is down to 20mg Oxycodon 3 times a day.

I would love to be able to contribute this to the treatments and I so hope I am right. I keep thinking though he was also recovering from an attempted whipple that turned into a bypass so I have to wonder if his body being finally healed was part of it. At dad's 2nd chemo treatment it was 10 weeks after surgery.

Dad remains thoroughly exhausted though. The treatments really knock the heck out of him. He is on Gemzar/Alflibercept trial (with both the Gemzar and Alflibercept every other week and just Gemzar on the off weeks). He has 3 more treatments and then they do his CAT scan and CA-19-19 on the 18th of August. My fingers and toes are crossed.
