My dad also developed a hernia along the incision after being opened up a second time following whipple. His hernia is very large (looks 9+ months pregnant); however, his surgeon and onc said to leave it along because the risks of another surgery for my dad far outweigh the benefits of what would be considered nothing more than cosmetic surgery at this point.
