My dad had real low protein/albumin and was at the point where he could not walk. They more or less wrote him off as final stages. We had a family conference with the doctors and convinced them to try TPN. They did not want to do that but they finally caved. He was on a short course of TPN and now taking oral protein with his diet. He is up and walked 86 steps the other day with his walker. June 14th I thought he was going to die. They are now talking about sending him home soon. As I told another poster, fight and fight hard. Have them treat the symptoms as well as the pc. If they are done treating the pc, then have them treat the symptoms.
