I was going to write that a blood sugar testing meter is a good idea. Also, as Lee's treatment progressed, he lost weight, to combat this, he used Glucerna shakes and began taking Omega 3 in the form of fish oil caps. He takes L-Glutamine to help maintain muscle mass. Lee also began taking Prilosec, on a day, about 2 mos. ago for indigestion.

Eating and what to eat seems daunting, and little frightening, at first, but do make sure he eats enough to keep his strength up and anything you're uncertain about always check with his dr. and never hesitate to ask here. I think all of us on this site are very interested in food! Take care.
