i do not believe there is any medical evidence that air causes the tumor to spread faster. the reason many people seem to go down hill quickly after they are opened up and the doctor realizes the tumor is to advanced to treat is probably due to the fact that the body can no longer solely concentrate on the tumor, but must also try to recup from the surgery, no matter how minor it was. if you ever have had surgery, you know what i mean. don't ever not take a surgical option if one is given. hope this helps some - angi
