Hi- My father was diagnosed and died from PC at age 73. I was just diagnosed with PC in October at age 49 (female, nonsmoker in good health). I've read different numbers but somewhere between 5% and 15% are hereditary. PanCan has a little information and I've registered with the Johns Hopkins family registry for PC.

Some good news though. I've been real worried about my 3 children. But I've read that even if you inherit the main genetic tendency towards PC, there is only a 5-10% chance of actually developing PC. Hopefully these statistics are correct. Peace, Jill
