Actually, what happened is all the preliminary tests showed stage 1 just the pancreas, he went into surgey to have the whipple procedure and found that the pc had spread to the lining that covers the small intestine, this was not evident on any CT scans as the cells were to small to pick up. They then closed him up and said that because it had spread that they could not do the sugery and had to start chemotherepy and see an Oncologist. We have started the clinical trial and made dad had his 3rd treatment this week. If the chemo destroys the cancer on the small intestine he then is able to be a candidate for whipple procedure they will re-evaluate in 2 months.
