I also have lung mets (PC) have been on gemcitibine, it is definatly working. First series, my tumour marker dropped right into the normal range and stayed there. I was taken off chemo. 6 weeks later, it was back. I had a 'big hit' - weekly, no time off. I am now starting a third series, 3 weeks on 1 week off. My tumour markers are dropping again. I pray this time, my markers will stay within normal... and stay there, I need a break from chemo! Wishing you all the best, and praying for good results! Side effects are minimal, fatigue, very little hair lose. In my case I suffered depression due to the fact that I did not expect it to come back so soon, emotionally I had a very hard time. Hugs Lydia
