A few months back, our family feared the worse; we were hoping that mom's PC had not spread to her lungs. The oncologists were closely monitoring some growths on her lungs, which after biopsy confirmed cancer, not PC mets, rather, lung cancer. So after a successful whipple early this year, all seemed almost normal. Mom was feeling better. But we are all distressed again with a new demon (this lung cancer 'thing' no symptoms whatsoever - nonsmoker, nondrinker); She is currently undergoing chemo for the lung cancer, a drug known as ALIMTA. Has anyone heard of Alimta - probably not, just thought I'd ask. It's a second-line chemo for certain types of lung cancer. Mom could not tolerate the first lung cancer chemo - don't know which one. She'd already completed the gemzar rounds of chemo for the PC. Still trying to make sense of my mom's ordeal of being diagnosed with two cancers within the past year - such sour odds.

Take care - Thanks for this board. Flo2
