Cathy in most cases surgery should always be followed by chemo as well as radiation. Your husband is very lucky that he can have the whipple most patients are found too late. Your husband needs a good surgeon that is very experienced in the whipple. He will need a large hospital that can handle any emergency that may arise. Do not give up hope, it sounds as though his cancer was caught early, now is the time to find a surgeon and get the cancer OUT! Tell us where you live maybe somebody can offer you a suggestion for a very good surgeon. Hugs Lillie
