I think Lillie's ideas are good ones. I would add - are there things that she could do each day -- something to look forward to ... like writing a short note to a friend, have friends come visit, tell you stories that you write down about her childhood, go through old photo albums with her to spark her memory, had she been a good cook - she could write down favorite recipies, etc. as long as her mind is with you -- think of things that would engage her mind and keep her interest for short periods of time.
