No! Pleural Effusion does NOT mean that lung mets are necessarily present! Google Pleual Effusion and you'll see. It's fluid accumulation and can be from many causes.

Wow.

Here's a quickie cut and paste:

Background: Pleural effusion is defined as an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the pleural space. Excess fluid results from the disruption of the equilibrium that exists across pleural membranes.
