I had gemzar for 12 times. I'm now doing radiation with 5 FU. It took around 1/2 hr. to infuse. I was given kytril and decadron before. I had no nausea, just some fatigue and slight shortness of breath. They did blood work every session before beginning the infusion. I had a port put in because my veins are difficult. It was much easier in the long run for me. I can't say if it worked because my scan was clear when I started and so far has remained clear. My CA 19-9 stayed the same too within normal range. Good luck with your treatment.
