Hello everyone...I haven't posted in a while...but read everyday and keep everyone, patients and caregivers, in my prayers always. My dad is not doing well at all. These past few weeks have been awful for him. He is getting weaker everyday. He does not want to eat..he can hardly walk. All he wants to do is sleep. We called in hospice, and Visiting Angels, to help, but I don't know how much they can do. Hospice had their first visit Friday. On the phone they were wonderful to my dad and me. But the first visit was horrible. All the nurse talked about was wills and POA, and kept asking him if he knew he only was given 6 months. I was horrified that she dwelled on this. He said he knew his prognosis. But she kept asking him how he felt about that.It was awful. I left the room and called the agency and told them how disappointed I was in this visit. Hopefully, tomorrow someone else will be coming. I feel numb....I know at this point I shouldn't be talking about myself, but these few weeks have been so draining and I just don't know what to do anymore. CindyNC- I remember when you were posting when you first called in hospice for Don. I am sorry for asking for advice when it is still so fresh for you, but can you share with me what you did in those few weeks regarding feeding or strength or do you have any advice for me to help my dad?

The doctor has not been very helpful either. I truly think it is the beginning of the end, but am afraid to admit it to anyone else except for this board. If anyone has anything at all , I would welcome any advice or experiences. Thanks for listening, and thank you and God bless all of you.
