Charlie and I live in a 'row' house. Charlie worked for the city. City workers had to live in the city limits. Charlie's been retired for many years now, but has refused to move, despite my nagging, etc. So here we stay.....

What's 'strange' about life is the following:

As many of you know, Charlie was dx. in April 2004 and had the Whipple May 04. He's beaten the odds so far, by the grace of God. He's doing very, very well.

Now since his surgery (and he was given very, very little hope of living much past about a year), in the approximately 23 houses on my block - SEVEN men have passed.....most very suddenly. All ages. The youngest was about 42. Two of these men lived on each side of our house! Another man is now in the final stages of liver cancer (keep him in your prayers, please...).

Go figure....

Just goes to prove none of us know when our time is up.....

Just wanted to share this....keep the hope.

Love, Pat
