For my mother, the cancer caused a partial bowel obstruction. In a nutshell, things like saliva, fluids that she takes in for her meds, etc., cannot easily make it's way into her intestines. As her saliva and bile fills her stomach it has to go somewhere...since it's not going down fast enough, her body wants it to come back up. We are also taking compazine as needs as well as something called Reglan to help things into her bowels. I hope that the cause of your loved-one's nausea is not an obstruction but something a little less complicated. I hope the upcoming treatment is successful!
