Lynn,We have EXACTLY the same problem. Just last Monday my dad felt increased nausea, pretty much as he had prior to getting his stent put in in early December. Within a week he has become so nauseated he cannot eat or drink at all or keep anything down. He was given Compazine, 10 mg every 6 hours and Ativan every 8 hours. Neither of which seems to help much. Still vomiting every 2 hours or so, and so nauseous he cannot even transfer to or from bed without vomiting. It's hard to believe such a change in just a couple of days. Hospice is eager to provide meds, doesn't feel the lack of food is a problem, and feels the vomiting can be brought under control. Also hard to believe it can be stopped. My dad is miserable and would like this to end. Hospice doesn't know if it's his body reacting to lack of food and the new meds (morphine and ativan) or just the disease. We'll find out within the next day if this can be brought under control. Otherwise, this will probably weaken him so much he will not be able to withstand it. It is wearing him out and making him want some relief. What have the doctors told you?
