There are surgeons who are able to do a resection when the tumor, usually a
Klatskins at that location, involves the portal vein. Please consider
getting a second opinion. I had a successful resection, including part of my
portal vein, with clear margins 4 years ago at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington
Mass. The surgeon, an amazing and wonderful human being, was Dr Roger
I believe this surgery is now also being done at other major cancer centers
that have experience with Cholangio. The experience part is key!
