Whatever their questionable rationale, most hospice organizations do NOT want to do TPN or anything else that might prolong life, including antibiotics, blood transfusions, and even IV fluids. They told me that 'dehydration is a good way to go'!

They have their place and value but they are simply not in the business of prolonging life. Medical care focuses on that. Hospice is focused on easing the passage by providing support and pain management.
