I'm sorry to hear that your mom's condition is getting worse. Sounds like she has a lot of things that may be complications related to the PC that indicate her entire system is under stress and parts of it (major organs) maybe heading towards failure.

If her kidneys aren't working are the doctors talking dialysis? Did she ever have asthma before? Have not heard that asthma is a side condition to PC but you never know. Fluid in the lungs is generally NOT asthma related but could be a sign of other issues. Most of these issues should be addressed as 'comfort' issues - meaning the doctors should treat them but so that the patient feels better but it would be doubtful that they would really fix the underlying problem.
