My dad with stage IV PC, also a diabetic for years. Interestingly, I being a nurse practitioner have always hounded him on a diabetic diet and now, all I want him to do is eat, I don't care what or in what quantity, just that he eats. He has lost so much weight and so much interest in eating, that we have totally changed our tune on diet. So, you can look back and find so many interesting food choices that are good for pancreatic cancer patients on this board, from smoothies to foods that tend to be a no-no. But in our case, there are no restrictions the night before chemo or the day of chemo. It is also SO important that they stay hydrated, so my mom packs a cooler of some water and drinks, as well as light snacks that he can eat on chemo day. Good luck.
