Dad has had about 8litres drained over the last two days from his abdomen. i read that it was important to monitor elecrolytes when such a vast volume was taken. Can anyone tell me how this is done? Blood? Urine? etc. He is having vitals checked and that's about it. I'm worried that this isn't enough as apart from anything else he seems dehydrated, which I suspect he was prior to the paracentesis. Thank you.
