Heather, I have started to respond three times in the last hour.. Not sure even if I should presume to be able to respond. But I'll try. What will it be like? for me when Dad passed away, it was a sobering relief that the agony he and Mom, and the entire family endured was over and the letting go could begin. One never really gets over a loss this close, but the reality comes forth and the moving on starts. I said my goodbye at the funeral, and have only one time gone back to the gravesite. What will you do? Hopefully have the opportunity to say goodbye... somehow you will get through the service if your family chooses one... you probably will be mad as hell, but the good memories will win over the bad. You will probably have to deal with a brother who might have been kept better informed. As for the what should you do.. the only comment I would have here is to share any awake time that might be with your Dad... I cannot perceive me being sage enough to advise on any other 'shoulds' for another person. In closing, know there are many here on this board who will share their hearts and minds... the same as perhaps you will for those that follow. This damnable disease has done one positive thing and that is introduced me to some very remarkable people whom I hope someday to return the favor of their support when my Dad was ill. Take care. My sincerest regards and respect, Paul
