Last Winter, my dear cousin was diagnosed w/ pc. She was hospitalized, where the dr. said if things weren't too horrible he would perform a whipple. He went in, removed her gall bladder & bile duct (which was blocked) and declined to go further. He told her that she had "two good month's to live." Although devastated, she is a fighter and wanted to begin whatever treatment was available as quickly as possible. The day before he was to discharge her from the hospital, she asked about chemo, radiation, etc. He said there was a problem. The biopsy had come back negative (thank all the powers that be) - they proceeded to take 3 or 4 more biopsies - all with the same result. His diagnosis "malignant mirage." (btw, the family's diagnosis "oops I made a mistake"). While we are, of course, absolutely grateful and thrilled that he was wrong, she is afraid to go to another doctor and will continue to see him periodically. Lacking a computer, she asked me to go online and find out what I could. She lives in NYC and would like any feedback on other doctors, support groups - she would especially like to volunteer for fundraising & awareness - I told her about the warmth and caring I found in the online support groups (can't convince her yet to buy a computer). Also, since he (& the hospital) didn't participate in her insurance co - she had to make a downpayment - in advance - and consitnues to pay. We cannot express how thankful we are that our prayers were answered - albeit in a peculiar way (we'll take it where we can get it) - any feedback would be sincerely appreciated. Tahk you and God bless you all.
