My dad is in hopkins now. He just had the whipple and removal of lymph nodes and 1/2 his pancreas. Dr. abrams suggested the protocol treatment to begin in January. Am I understanding this right as it will be IV chemotherapy for 6 months and 1 month of daily radiation approx. 4 months into the chemotherapy and the treatment will last for 6 months. Have any of you been through this? What should I expect? How do they really react to the treatment? Feel free to email mail me directly or call me collect (410) 867-2007. truckkie @msn.com Also what drugs do they use in the chemo?
