Tried posting this yesterday but for some reason it didn't work. Sorry. My dad has shown a rapid deteroration since last Tuesday. He can no longer walk, can barely talk, eats & drinks nothing. He is accepting of death. Why am I unable to let him go? I live 700 miles away and arrived home Sunday from seeing him. I want to go back but he'd rather I wait till Christmas. He told my sister that he'd like to make it till Christmas but is ok with going sooner. The dr finally made contact with us yesterday after we had tried since last Tuesday my dad has an appointment today with him and the dr will reccommend hospice at that point. I am unable to function here at home much, though I certainly have enough to keep me busy. Instead I call my sister who is staying with my parents 3-4 times a day wondering if everything is still ok. Why is letting go so difficult for me? Should I just go or listen to my dad and wait?
