My mom's situation is simular, just watch with the fluid around the lung. They get out of breath, it can cause pain in places you would not think has to do with fluid around the lung. Can be accompanied by cough but not always. Can cause nausia if the fluid builds to much. My Mom's scan showed small amounts of fluid for about 6 months. Then the sympotoms got worse and scan showed large amounts of fluid so she was drained put back on treatment and continues to be drained when need. I would not say that the Gemzar has anything to do with the fluid in my Mom's case.
