My Father-in-law, who lives in India, has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. His CT scan shows mass lesion within the body and tail of pancreas measuring 8.6cm x 4.3 cm. The mass in engulfing the celiac bifurcation, small segment of common hepatic artery, the spleenic artery and portal vein confluence and proximal segment of superior mesenteric vein. According to his oncologist surgery is not an option and has given him 2-6 months at most. We are of course going for a second opinion and we hope that the second oncologist would give us some hope.
Perhaps the information is there in earlier posts, but I was wondering if anyone would have suggestions regarding medicines to control the cancer. What options should we consider?
