Dad could have had surgery(we went into Mass General in Boston), but opted
not to. He is 84 yrs. old and felt that he would not have made it through
the surgery. Gastro Dr. says chemo and radiation not an option for
him(because he is pretty frail). He doesn't even have an oncologist because
of this. He just wants to take and live one day at a time. He on occasion
uses Gas-X if he has these bloating bouts. Seems to help sometimes, but not
always. Love him dearly -- but a very stubborn man. He tells me if he has
any pain he will let me know, but I'm afraid he won't. I'm trying very hard
not to smother him and bother him with questions, but it's so hard. I try to
get as much advice and info from you wonderful people on this board so that I
don't have to get drs. involved(he wants it that way). Thank you so much for
your advice. I will look into the medication that you have mentioned --maybe
he will get a liitle more relief from that. K.
