My 73-year-old dad was just dx'd with PC first week of Dec. Docs at MDA are doing chemo first - not sure if there's liver mets - will know more end of Jan. At any rate, he met a man at MDA who is a 12-year PC survivor. The remarkable thing about him is that his PC returned 6 years ago! Also, my uncle had PC and lived for two years after it returned, so there is hope in 2007 for all of us dealing with this...

And by the way, I know it's a terrible disease, but can we please stop referring to PC as 'the beast'. In 2007, I challenge all of us on this board to find another term to describe PC that's less daunting and ominous. So much of fighting PC is about attitude, and 'the beast' just seems so defeatest to begin with. I'll try to think of something, and in the meantime, let 2007 be a positive year with PLENTY of good news for all of us!
