Be very glad you have the tubefeeding right now. My dad was on it for 4 months, just at night, after his whipple. He needed the nutrition and calories to heal and it kept his strength up through chemo and radiation. Walking is so very good for you, it prevents blood clots, gets the bowels to wake up, prevents pnuemonia and helps increase appetite.

Do you have homehealth care to assist you with the tubefeedings and new diagnosis of diabetes as well as PC? Keep a log of his food intake. As my dad's caloric intake increased, they gradually decreased his tubefeeding. Be sure he is taking enzymes with his meals so he can digest his food.

I would think if you had homehealth they could decide if he needs PT and they could get a nutritionist (hopefully one with PC experience) to help you. He is very fresh still after his surgery. Ask the board anytime you have questions. Kathy P.
