Brian had the whipple just before your dad, on Nov 2nd. He did lose some weight, about 10 pounds but has gained seven back. Even while he was in the hospital he made himself walk. He is tired most of the time. he just went back to work (he is a chiropractor) this past Wednesday, 8 weeks post op. We are taking it slow. Try giving him high calorie foods that will help with his energy. Small meals, often. Walking, even if it is just for a few minutes as often as he can. One other thing that was reccommended to us was to make sure he stands upright and not crouched over.

Best wishes, and thank God the whipple was not needed for pancreatic cancer!

Sheryl
