I am a Canadian living in the US. My dad (who lives in Toronto) was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer in June. His cancer was inoperable, but he did meet with the preeminent surgeon in this area before that was ascertained. His name is Dr. B. Langer, and he is at Toronto General Hospital. From what we know, he is respected worldwide and he specializes in performing the whipple - pancreaticodueodenectamy (SP?). Dr. Bruce Taylor is his associate, and also a highly regarded surgeon. Both of these doctors are extraordinarily busy, and even with a referral you may have a difficult time getting an appointment. I have learned rather quickly that the Canadian medical system - such as it is - requires a very proactive and diligent approach in order to get the care you need...when you need it. Good luck to you, I hope this helps!
