Aloha. While my husband was ill he experienced many unusual physical problems. We never really knew which ones were attributable to the disease and which to each of the many drugs he was taking -- including chemo. It sounds as if your friend's choices would not be the same choices you would make under similar circumstances. Accepting her right to makes her own choices is one of the hardest parts of going through this with someone we love and care about. She has already lost much of the control of her most personal possessions: her body and her very life. If she has confidence in her onc then about all you can do now is to support her in her choices and be her friend. I hope this helps you a little.
