Dear Jan, thanks for the post. Pancreas cancer mortalities when combined for men and women rank 5th overall. It is based on total number of fatalities. However, for men individually and women individually, pancreas cancer mortality is ranked 4th. I hope this makes some sense. There is a chart on the PanCAN site at www.pancan.org that explains these numbers. That is why when we quote it as the 4th cause of cancer death, we clarify it by saying "4th leading cause of cancer death in both men and women." Thanks again. Paula
