Thanks for replying. Ruth is not with Hospice. The Dr. won't release her to Hospice until he feels there's nothing left to be done. She has regular Chemo in the Hospital which knocks her for a loop. But she's a 79 yr. old trooper and is willing to keep trying. My concern is that the Dr. tells her that the Chemo is the way to control her pain (in addition to the morphine pump implant and medications). I think it only is giving her more time on earth, but the time is definitely NOT quality time. In the past 10 mos., I think she has had only 3 or 4 really good days. It's very sad and I keep asking myself why she is putting herself through all this torture when the outcome is the same as if she didn't accept Chemo. Thanks for listening. CAROL
