My mother was admitted to the hospital When she was moved to nursing home the
primary diagnosis metabolic encephalopathy secondary diagnosis was Liver
Disease, pancreatic psuedocysts and pancreatis. When we had a home care agent
reivew her file to evaluate level of care she would require going forward,
she found a letter from a oncologist indicating the CA19-9 levels were
elevated and indicated a tumor in pancreas and indicated surgury was not
advised and the family needed to be counciled. On November 9 2006 my moms
primary care Dr contacted us and indicated the ca19-9 levels are higher. He
told us she has a tumor and we need to watch it and is referring her to a
oncologist
