Welcome but sorry you have to be here. First let me say this. Let the oncologist tell him everything. Although statistics are grime a patient must have hope! A lot of people here have been given the old 'you have 6 months' MANY have far exceeded that!! Once you have all the details on staging ect. it will be easier for us to tell you our experiences. There is tons of info here. If he is not operable there is the gift of time with chemo. Also there are many types of tumors. Some slower growing than others. The chemos for this cancer are not nearly as bad as some and not nearly as hard as chemos of years gone by. Some have very few side effects. Of course that will be choice. My husband has been on treatments for two years and is doing very well. DON'T dwell on the stats. Everyone is different and everyone responds different. Yes this is a hard cancer but MANY have outlived those stats. Also... My husband worked and played golf while on chemo! Please keep us posted and our prayers are with you both.
