I'm just wishing you and Raul my best. My husband who has PA with liver mets is a hard working farmer and I know how hard it is to keep a good man down and how they fight to survive. Your husband reminds me of him. My husband was on Gemzar, 1 week on and 1 week off and then had Cistplatin every week along with the Gemzar. He tolerated this very well. His appetite decreased, but he ate and he was tired a lot. They gave him Emed and Compazine for nausea and it worked just fine. He really never was sick. I've read so much that Gemzar really works for a lot of people. It didn't work for my husband, but our Onc. is agressive and gets a lot of opinions. She now has him on 5FU, he can't tolerate a lot of chemo drugs because his liver is not functioning well, although he doesn't show any symptoms of this except the blood tests show it. Anyway, just wanted to tell you that my husband has been on these two chemo regimes for over 3 mos. now and he has continued his live as normal as possible. I'm sure Raul will do just fine with the Gemzar. For us, I worry about fall harvest and how he's going to get through, but I know he will get a lot of help if he can't do it himself. Have to let him try, that's what he loves most in life. I wish the best for you and Raul. You seem to have so many friends on this forum. That's great! God be with you.
