I am very sorry you are dealing with such a devasting diagnosis/ prognosis. I do not know how old your dad is or why the docs have not offered chemo as a treatment option. I do know for those fortunate enough to respond well to chemo it gives them more time by keeping the tumor from growing out of control. Because chemo can keep the tumor in check or even shrink it, it can really help with quality of life. Even though chemo is not a cure it can be a great benifit for those suffering with PC.

Has your dad consulted with an oncologist? My brother had an aborted Whipple and was told by his surgeon there was nothing he could do but try and make him comfortable. When my brother saw an oncologist he totally disagreed and started treating him immediately. Though my brother had several complications from chemo I believe it gave him a couple extra months of life and it was worth it.

Also, If your dad feels well enough to go to work--More power to him, let him live his life to the full as long as he is able.
